It is our goal to help as many families as possible provide a Catholic school education for their children. The Archdiocese of New York and its Parishes, Inner-City Scholarship Fund and Children’s Scholarship Fund are making scholarship awards and financial assistance available for the 2019-20 school year. Funding for awards is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. The earlier families complete their applications, the better their chances of receiving financial assistance. We do not inquire about the immigration status of any family for purposes of admissions or financial assistance. Who can apply for Financial Assistance? Financial assistance and scholarships are determined within grades and income levels. This is a suggested guideline of incomes used when determining financial need. Income Eligibility Guidelines for Scholarships and Financial Assistance* Household Size Eligible Income* Two $91,056 Three $108,528 Four $126,000 Five $143,472 Six $160,944 Seven $178,416 Eight $195,888 *Eligible income includes: Income as reported on Federal form 1040 in addition to public assistance, food stamps, child support or alimony, Social Security benefits, SSI, and/or disability, unemployment benefits, workers' compensation, other government assistance and financial aid from family/friends if applicable.We are committed to making a Catholic education affordable for every child. However, our resources are limited, and we are unable to provide free tuition for any child. Given that, and because we do not want choosing a Catholic school to become too great a sacrifice for your family, we require that each family be able to demonstrate a minimum annual income of $10,000 in order to be eligible for financial assistance. What are the deadlines and other conditions for applying? The earlier students apply, the better their chances of receiving financial assistance. New students completing both the Admissions and the Financial Assistance Applications by February 15, 2019 will receive decisions regarding acceptance and financial assistance no later than March 15, 2019. Applications will be open after February 15, 2019, but the level of financial assistance could be lower and the decision timeframe could be longer. There is a non-refundable $35 processing fee when applying for financial assistance. Make sure you have all the required documents: Only applications submitted with all required supporting documents will be considered for financial assistance processing. Required documents are listed at the end of the application. You will be able to select multiple schools on this Financial Assistance Application. You must also submit an Admissions Application for each of the schools that you list on your Financial Assistance Application. If you need to apply for admissions at additional schools, you can do so by visiting www.ApplyCatholicSchoolsNY.org. How is Financial Assistance awarded? Financial assistance and scholarships are primarily based on income eligibility and availability of funds. In addition, financial assistance and scholarships are determined within grades and income levels. The earlier students apply, the better their chances of receiving financial assistance. Final awards may be provided through partner organizations. When will Financial Assistance awards be communicated? Financial assistance applications completed by February 15, 2019 will receive an email notification with their award decision no later than March 15, 2019. An application will not be considered for an award until it is fully completed and ALL supporting documentation is received and reviewed by TADS. New students will not receive notification of their financial assistance award until AFTER they have completed their admissions interview visit and been accepted by the school. Please do not contact your school directly, as financial assistance decisions are made by the Archdiocese of New York, and not by individual schools. In order to complete this application, please have the following financial documents in front of you: your 2017 1040 tax form, 2017 W2 and if applicable, documents for other sources of income. Step 3: Remit a non-refundable $35 application processing fee payable by credit card, check or money order. (Please note there is a $10.00 Insufficient Funds fee if you pay with by bank account and the payment bounces.)
